        Historique

Terry Flannigan started at Grant MacEwan Community College in 1972, just after it opened, as the Chairman of the Arts and Sciences Department. He went on to become the Director of Academic Services in 1974, Director of College and Student Services in 1978, and then Vice President of Student Services 1984. Around 1975-76, he started the Grant MacEwan Foundation, to collect funding for scholarships and bursaries, becoming the Vice President and Executive Director for the foundation in 1987. He was presented with the MacEwan Medallion in 1989. In 1991, Terry moved on from the college to start a new career at the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), before moving onto Okanagan College by helping kickstart the Okanagan Campus at the University of British Columbia.

Prior to his career at MacEwan, Terry held three degrees, and worked as an associate professor of Physical Education at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Alongside Chuck Day, he coached a high school football team in Saskatoon from 1962 to 1968. After his time at Grant MacEwan Community College, Terry, with his children, went on to create the Flannigan Family Scholarship in 1996, a scholarship awarded to student athletes with outstanding academic achievement.
