Name of creator
The Learning Resources Centre (LRC) was established in 1971 under J. Ross Hotson. With locations on each campus, collections were focused according to programs offered. As campuses closed, collections were absorbed by City Centre Campus. The LRC became known as the Library in January 2008. The City Centre Campus Library was renamed the John L. Haar Library on February 15, 2017 in honour of MacEwan University's first president.
Heads included J. Ross Hotson (August 1971-1975, chairman), Garth Homer (1978), Allen Watson (Coordinator, 1980-1982?), Pat Lloyd (19??-1997), Joanne Kemp (1997-2009), Debbie McGugan (2009-2012, acting), Jane Duffy (2012-2014), Debbie McGugan (2014, acting; 2015-2019, dean), and Karen Keiller (2019-).
Scope and content
The fonds consists of policies, committee minutes, reports, statistics, projects, programming, publications, photographs, and posters related to the activities of the Library.
