The Archives serves as the official memory of the university and provides access to original materials for use by the academic community and external researchers. This database allows you to search descriptions of records held in our collections. As we have far more records than are reflected, don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions. To see what we have now, choose Archival Descriptions from the drop-down Browse menu at the top left.
While the Archives aims to make its records and services available to MacEwan University community and other researchers, the unique and original nature of archival records requires that all materials be accessed in the Archives’ reading room under the supervision of the Archives staff. Users may not borrow original records from the Archives for any purposes.
The Archives is open by appointment only Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Contact us at archives@macewan.ca or 780.633.3663 for an appointment.
Statement on Harmful Language in Archival Descriptions
MacEwan University Archives aims to describe archival materials in a manner that is respectful to the individuals and communities who create, use, and are represented in the collections we manage.
We are committed to using inclusive, non-derogatory language when writing finding aids. In addition, we encourage users to provide feedback to help us tackle this issue. We recognize that terminology evolves over time and that efforts to create respectful and inclusive description must be ongoing.
If you encounter any harmful or offensive language or content in MacEwan University archival finding aids or collections, please contact us at archives@macewan.ca
